Colin Mawby

Colin Mawby was born in 1936 and is one of the world’s leading liturgical composers. His music is sung, published and recorded in many countries and is received with high acclaim and appreciation. He has written well over fifty Masses and many hundreds of Anthems and Motets. He has composed two Children’s Operas as well as many choral and orchestral works.

He was Master of Music at Westminster Cathedral and under his direction its choir achieved new heights of quality and performance. He was also Choral Director for the Irish National Television and Radio Service and he gave a completely new impetus to Irish Choral Music.

His contribution to Choral music has been enormous and his work is acknowledged and respected in many countries.
